September 2018 Building

September 23, 2018 Building a Vans RV-12 No Comments

A new group of students have joined the TeenFlight Campbell River program. After an introduction to safety and hangar operations the group learned about working with sheetmetal used in aircraft construction. The group learned about the different types of rivets used to build the RV12 and then got to practice the skills that they will be using.

The reading assignment for the students is to become more familiar with Section 5 from the Vans Aircraft Construction Manual. Vans Aircraft has a link to the file at:

The next meeting will be Wed September 26 at the Sealand Hangar
